Gotenba Route

The Gotenba Route (Green Trail) is by far the longest route on Mt. Fuji, with at total distance of 19.5 km (12.2 mi.) it takes above 8~9 hours to reach the summit from the Gotenba 5th station. The route has the least number of mountain huts (only four currently operating). The Trail summit is at 3,715 meters (12,188 ft.) at the sengen Taisha Okumiya Shrine. This route is the most uninhabited route and the descending route is covered by sand (Great Sand Run) from the 7th station downward. The route has a great views and a side access trail to the hoei crater.
